Iowa Farmland Values Increase Again, Setting New Record
Pace
The average price of Iowa farmland is at a record high for the third
straight year.
Iowa State University's annual survey shows the price jumping almost 11
percent to about $2,900 per acre.
That means the value of Iowa's farmland increased more than $7 billion
last fiscal year.

Greater Yield with Less Fertilizer
Whether or not hi-tech tools help ag producers increase profit,
producers at a Fife Mt field day say they'd never go back to
farming
without the information they get with the help of global
positioning
system satellites.
With GPS, producers record information about almost anything --
soils,
weeds, yield and chemical history for specific places in their
fields.
They can use that information to guide management decisions or
field
applications.
